Spread the word
If we want to build this march as large as possible, we’ll need to work really hard to reach every friend, colleague, family member, to let them know what’s happening and how they can get involved.
The mainstream media certainly aren’t going to do this for us!
Here are five things you can do right now that will make a real difference.
1: Share it everywhere
Help spread the word by sharing this website on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, LinkedIn or by email. You can use these buttons to tell hundreds of people about the site with just a couple of clicks:
If you’ve already pledged you’ll join us, why not let your friends and followers on social media know? Help us spread the word on Twitter by sharing one of our graphics. We’re using the hashtag #18oct to link up people supporting the march.
2: RSVP on Facebook
Let your friends see that you’re coming on the march by joining the event page on Facebook. That way when they come to look at the page, they’ll see that they know someone who’s already committed to go, which will make a big difference to their confidence in signing up themselves.
3: Show your face
If you’re supporting the march, let others see it on every Facebook or Twitter post you make by adding a Twibbon to your profile image. This is a little image that you overlay onto your current photo, to show your support. Following these links only takes a minute to add the badge to your photo, and can be seen by loads of people.
4: Stick it up!
Do you have access to a notice board at work, or at a club or community venue? Why not print out a poster for the demo and stick it up for everyone to see?
5: Get creative
Have you got an idea for something that could help raise awareness for the march or to tell everyone that Britain Needs A Pay Rise?
If you can make a video, record a song, create an informative graphic or a funny image, then make it, upload it and share it around as much as you can. Be sure to contact us with a link too – we’d love to see it!
Tweet it on #18oct, or use our contact form to let us know
Thanks for all you’re doing to help build the march!
